Porcelain Onlays & Inlays
Porcelain Onlays and Inlays provide a functional restoration for partially damaged teeth cause by decay, cracks or other dental injuries. They are used to restore the functionality and appearance of a tooth that has been compromised but does not necessarily require a crown. The highly skilled team at Regency Court Dentistry has both the expertise and the latest in dental technology to repair your smile back to its original condition.
Inlays are designed to fill the space where a cavity exists and restore the tooth to its original look and function. Inlays come in a variety of styles including gold, porcelain and composite resin and can be applied on all areas of the tooth including the surface. Unlike the other gold and resin inlays, the porcelain inlay provides a natural look that blend nicely into your existing smile.
Onlays are designed to cover and protect thin areas of a tooth and restore the tooth while preventing further decay. Onlays are the same as inlays with the exception that they are designed to replace a cusp. They typically are applied to teeth that need more extensive repair than a standard Inlay provides and where a complete crown is not needed. The same is true for an Onlay as with Inlays, porcelain provides a much more natural restoration than gold or resin.
