Back-to-School Dental Exams

Last month Regency Court Dentistry had the privilege of supporting the local community at various events.

Back-to-School dental exams were conducted at both locations for Florence Fuller Child Development Centers (East and West).  Dr. Fatmi conducted hundreds of exams and applied fluoride varnish for the Head Start children, as well as additional screenings for Early Head Start children.  Each child received a dental kit containing a toothbrush and tube of toothpaste.  Florence Fuller Child Development Centers is dedicated to helping disadvantaged children realize their full potential both socially and academically, by giving them the tools and skills they need to start school on par with their more advantaged peers.  We are proud to be apart of the event for both locations.

Back-to-School exams were conducted at the Le Jardin Center in Homestead.  Dr. Fatmi along with Dr. Harb conducted 150 exams and the children received a dental kit containing a toothbrush and tube of toothpaste.  Le Jardin Community Center, Inc. is a nonprofit agency that provides children and families with opportunities to learn, develop and increase their likelihood of success in the future, thereby giving them a “Head Start”.  We are proud to support this organization.

Dental Office Provides Free Dental Health Screenings for Special Olympics Athletes and Local Community Charitable Organizations

Regency Court Dentistry, a Boca Raton-based dentistry office specializing in general, restorative, cosmetic, and emergency dentistry, today announced partnerships with key charitable organizations.  Beginning this summer, Regency Court Dentistry will partner with the Special Olympics World Games, Florence Fuller Child Development Center, and the Early Head Start-Head Start Center in Homestead to provide screenings and dental care to disabled children and adults, migrant workers, and disadvantaged youth.

Regency Court Dentistry was selected as one of only a handful of healthcare providers to provide screenings and dental care to Special Olympics athletes.  At Florence Fuller Child Development Center, Regency Court Dentistry will provide oral exams to disadvantaged children.  At the Early Head Start-Head Start Center, dental staff will head down to Homestead to assess and treat over 250 children who don’t have access to dental care.

Dr. Naved Fatmi, D.M.D. and Sue Kassoff-Correia, Registered Dental Hygienist, truly believe in giving back to the community.  After volunteering with non-profit organizations, the dental care team sought out opportunities to provide a more direct impact in the community.  Using their expertise in comprehensive dental care, Fatmi and Kassoff-Corriea decided to join forces with charitable organizations to provide preventative and restorative dental care to those in need right here in South Florida. “We are dedicated to the overall health of our patients and our community, and we want to help the many children and adults who don’t have the financial means to cover dental treatment.”  Dr. Fatmi commented.

Since 2012, Regency Court Dentistry has taken an active approach to helping the South Florida community through free dental health education, screenings, and general and restorative dentistry.   Most recently, the dental office has provided pro bono dental services to elderly patients through Dental Assistance for Survivors of the Holocaust (DASH) by Jewish Family Services (JFS), disabled individuals at the ARC of the Glades, and disadvantaged children at the Florence Fuller Development Center.

Early Head Start Dental Exams – Florence Fuller Child Development Center East Boca

We are happy to be able to assist and be a part of the community!

In September, Regency Court Dentistry conducted dental exams and administered fluoride varnish at Florence Fuller Child Development Centers in East Boca for the children who attend the Early Head Start and after-school program. We screened roughly 200 children between two to nine years of age. Dr. Catherine Harb generously volunteered her dental expertise by performing examinations with us. We are indebted to Stephanie Ellis, FFCDC health coordinator, for assisting in the logistics and helping to manage the entire mission.

Every Thursday, between seeing patients, Dr. Naved Fatmi and his staff can be found at Florence Fuller Child Development Center where they educate and promote the importance of oral health and offer fluoride treatment to young patients to guard against cavities.

“What they do is very important to us because most of the families are low income families and they do not readily have access to dental care,” said Stephanie Ellis, director of clinical services.

Knowing that oral health problems are the No. 1 cause of missed school days and that good oral health is a key component of overall health, Fatmi wanted to do his part.

“We know that the mouth is the gateway to the body so getting oral health care early is very important for general health,” said Fatmi, who has built his practice on one simple premise: Provide every patient with optimum lifetime dental care.
