Highlights from the Palm Beach State College Dental Hygiene Class of 2016 Pinning and Awards Ceremony held at the Lake Worth Campus, Duncan Theatre.
Dr. Fatmi presented the Dental Hygiene Achievement Award to Marie Zephyr, one of 24 Palm Beach Dental Hygiene Class of 2016 graduates, for her demonstrating significant improvement of clinical skills and patient treatment in the course of her dental hygiene program, in the following areas:
- Patient assessment
- Patient Interaction
- Patient clinical treatment skills
Each year, Dr. Fatmi generously awards $250.00 and a Certificate of Recognition to the student selected by PBSC Dental Hygiene Services faculty. In addition, Dr. Fatmi was recently appointed to the Sigma Phi Alpha National Dental Hygiene Honor Society as an Honorary Member of the Palm Beach chapter for his outstanding contribution to the dental hygiene profession.
Governor Rick Scott has appointed Dr. Naved Fatmi, D.M.D. as the newest member of The Florida Board of Dentistry. Dr. Fatmi, Owner and Practicing Dentist of Regency Court Dentistry has been recognized by the Florida Board of Dentistry for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in the field of dentistry.
The Florida Board of Dentistry was established to ensure that every dentist and dental hygienist practicing in this state meets minimum requirements for safe practice. The practice of these professions is a privilege granted by the State. The Board of Dentistry is responsible for licensure, monitoring and ensuring the safe practice of dentists and dental hygienists in their service to the people of Florida.
“It is an honor to be appointed by Governor Rick Scott to The Florida Board of Dentistry,” said Dr. Fatmi. “The Florida Board of Dentistry plays a vital role in ensuring the highest standards in Dental Health throughout the state. The other appointed members of the board are an impressive group of industry leaders within their respective professions.”
The Board consists of eleven members appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. Seven members must be licensed dentists actively engaged in clinical practice; two members must be actively practicing dental hygienists; and two members must be consumers employed in a field or occupation that is not related to the dental profession.
Dr. Fatmi currently fills one of the seven member seats made up of licensed medical professionals that are actively practicing dental health. Dr. Fatmi practices a wide range of dental procedures from his Boca Raton dental practice, Regency Court Dentistry. The practice specializes in providing general dentistry services as well as many cosmetic, restorative and emergency dental services.

Palm Beach State College Dental Health Services held their 51st annual Pinning and Awards ceremony on Thursday, May 7 at the Duncan Theater on the PBSC Lake Worth campus. Sixteen dental hygiene students were awarded the time-honored Pin and recognized for their accomplishments. Dr. Fatmi presented to Anaise Dorval the “Dental Hygiene Achievement Award” for her overall improvement in the dental hygiene program. This generous scholarship will assist Anaise as she embarks on her future endeavors as a dental hygienist.
